   TEXT:

Habakkuk 3:2 "O Lord, I have heard the speech, and was afraid: O Lord, revive
your work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make
                          known; in wrath remember mercy."

Psalms 85:6 "Will You not revive us again, That Your people may rejoice inYou?"

   Introduction:

1. In part one we talked about reviving: Penetrable hearts; Personal godliness;
Biblical truth; Faith in our homes; Fruit bearing; and The "Here am I send Me"
    attitude:

2. Some more actions and attitudes which we need to revive from time to time.

3. The Psalmist asked the Lord to "revive us again".

4. Attitudes and actions.

   OUTLINE:

I. MAKE US AWAKE, ALIVE, AND ACTIVE

    A. The church is at war Ephesians 6:12-13 For we do not wrestle against flesh
and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in
    B. The church is a tree bearing fruit John 15:1-8
    C. Christians are running a race Hebrews 12:1 Therefore we also, since we are
surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the
race that is set before us.
    D. The church is a light Matthew 5:16
    E. The church is salt Matthew 5:13
    F. Proper focus is needed
         1) Romans 13:11,12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us
cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us
walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness
and lust, not in strife and envy.
         2) Ephesians 5:14-16 "Therefore He says: "Awake, you who sleep, Arise
from the dead, And Christ will give you light." See then that you walk
circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because
              the days are evil."

II. MAKE US MORE EVANGELISTIC

    A. First century evangelism
         1) Mark 16:15
         2) Acts 8:4 Went everywhere
         3) 2 Timothy 2:2 Teach to others who will teach others etc.
    B. The power of prayer in evangelism
         1) Acts 6:2-4,7 Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and
said,"It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve
tables. Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good
reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over
this business; but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the
of the word." ministry Then the word of God spread, and the number of the
disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests
              were obedient to the faith.
         2) Romans 10:1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that
              they may be saved.
         3) 2 Thessalonians 3:1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord
may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, and that we may be
delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.
         4) Ephesians 6:18,19 "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the
Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for
all the saints and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open
my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,
         5) Matthew 9:37,38 Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is
plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest
to send out laborers into His harvest."

III. MAKE US MORE SPIRITUAL

    A. To restore the erring Galatians 6:1
    B. To be Christ-centered Galatians 2:20
    C. To avoid worldliness Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove
what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

IV. MAKE US MORE BROTHERLY

    A. Born again into the family of God
         1) 1 Peter 1:22,23 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth
through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently
with a pure heart, 23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but
incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,
         2) 1 John 4:20-5:1 If someone says, "I love God," and hates his
brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen,
how can he love God whom he has not seen? 21 And this commandment we
have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also. Whoever
believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves
Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.
    B. Look forward to fellowship
         1) Hebrews 10:24,25 "And let us consider one another in order to stir up love
and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is
the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as
              you see the Day approaching."
         2) Galatians 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus
         3) Hebrews 13:1 Let brotherly love continue. 2 Do not forget to entertain
strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.
3 Remember the prisoners as if chained with them - those who are
mistreated - since you yourselves are in the body also.
         4) Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell
together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on
the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments.
It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For
there the LORD commanded the blessing - Life forevermore.

V. MAKE US WANT TO FOLLOW THE APOSTLES' DOCTRINE

    A. Their doctrine is God's doctrine
         1) Acts 2:42,43 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and
fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon
every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
         2) Mark 16:15-20 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach
              the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved;
but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow
those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak
with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything
deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and
they will recover." So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was
received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they
went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and
confirming the word through the accompanying signs.
    B. "Back to the Bible"
         1) 2 Timothy 3:16,17
         2) 4:2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince,
rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
         3) 1 Peter 4:11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone
ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all
things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory
and the dominion forever and ever.
    C. Two biggest problems in the church: ignorance and indifference 2 Timothy 2:15
    D. The danger of following other doctrines Galatians 1:9

VI. MAKE US REALIZE CHRIST'S IMPACT ON EVERY ASPECT OF LIFE

    A. In the home
         1) Ephesians 6:1-4
         2) Titus 1:6
         3) Titus 3:1-6
    B. In business
         1) Ephesians 6:5-8;
         2) 1 Peter 2:18;
         3) Ephesians 6:9
    C. Wherever we are
         1) Acts 2:46,47;
         2) Ephesians 4:1

VII. MAKE IT A LASTING REVIVAL

    A. Not discouraged by the trials and tribulations we encounter
         1) Matthew 13:20,21;
         2) 5:10-12
    B. The attitude of the apostles
         1) Acts 4:18-20;
         2) 1 Peter 2

   CONCLUSION:

    1. A better Christian life starts with me.
    2. A better church starts with me.
    3. A better world starts with me.
    4. I can't influence the world until I change me.
    5. What will I do to revive my Christian commitment?
